Commodities activities are driven by an experienced team of professionals and business partners based primarily in Beijing, Dallas, London and Jakarta, mainly on an agency basis.

The main commodities dealt with are:

• Indonesian Coal
• Iron Ore
• Oil Products
• Other Client Inquiries:

  -         Fertiliser (mainly Urea)
  -         Sugar
  -         Gas
  -         Diamonds

Indonesian Coal:

Our partner deals directly with the owners of small and medium sized Indonesian mines in different grades of steam coal and, occasionally, coking coal.
We can deal spot, but prefer longer term contracts of 12 months or more.Because of the nature of the mines with which we deal, prices are very competitive.Delivery tends to be FOB Indonesian ports and occasionally CIF terms to China and East Indian ports.
We have ongoing client demand for Coking Coal.

Iron Ore:

Most of the iron ore we are sourcing comes from Indonesia and our contacts within the coal business (above) again deal directly with the mines.
Delivery so far has only been FOB Indonesian Ports.

Oil Products:

Our activities in oil products have been client driven, with most inquiry being for long-term contracts in Mazut and D2 for CIF delivery to China Ports, as well as crude oil and EN590

Other:

We continue to have some quite substantial enquiry in a number of other commodities, with the majority being client driven on the buy side. This includes various clients’ demand for long-term gas supply and diamonds for use in both the jewellery trade and industrial sector.
We are able to source sugar and copper on a regular basis.

We have selective inquiry in precious metals, which is handled in a discrete and bespoke manner.
